The Four Most Common Questions About the BackupBox.
- 1. Why do I need a BackupBox?
- Here's why. If your system or hard drive crashes for any reason, the BackupBox has all your information saved, including all your software
- programs, all saved passwords, all emails, all documents, any and all information you have on your computer now. What would it cost you to
- have your information restored by a professional technician? Usually between $85 and $120/hr. It takes on average an hour to load your
- Windows program alone. Just imagine the costs of re-installing and restoring all your programs. By the way, do you have all your software and
- installation keys?
- 2. How easy is it? Do I need technical knowledge?
- It is VERY easy, and you do not need any technical knowledge. The BackupBox was designed for non-technical users. All you need to do is
- plug it in. The software installs itself. The actual backup occurs when your computer is idle for three minutes. As soon as you start working,
- the backup will stop, then restart where it left off. If your busy all day, you can tell your BackupBox to "Backup and Shut Down." Then you
- know you have a complete backup every day!
- 3. Do I want the Mobile Unit or the Desktop Unit?
- The Desktop Unit is about the size of a VHS tape. It is connected by a USB cable and powered by a regular power cable (both cables included.)
- The Mobile Unit - designed for notebooks - is about the size of a deck of cards. It connects and is powered by theprovided USB cable.
- 4. How do I figure out the size of BackupBox I need?
- Since the BackupBox does a complete copy of your computer's hard drive, you need a BackupBox that is equal to or larger than your computer's
- hard drive. If you need help figuring this out, we are happy to help. Just give us a call at 800.669.8194.
Customer Reviews
"Recently my laptop hard drive crashed. I took it to a computer repair shop and the man told me that it could not be repaired and all of my data was lost. Lucky for me I had the Back Up Box and the system was totally backed up. After the new hard drive was installed I brought the laptop home, plugged in the Back Up Box, inserted the CD and started the system. It wasn't long before I was looking at my computer exactly the same as it was before the crash. It was like a dream!
I have had computer crashes before when I had to reinstall all of the programs and files. Even with a backup on a portable hard drive the programs still had to be painstakingly reinstalled, many of them requiring serial numbers which I had misplaced. It took hours. The Back Up Box was fast and easy - and I didn't have to remember where I had put the serial numbers." -Penny L Baziuk (Ripless Ranch Pet Supply)
“I can’t tell you how happy I am with the BackUpBox. NO MORE GUILT about forgetting to backing up my business contacts and data. And NO MORE WORRY about lost time and uncertainty of how to restore the data and software back to its original configuration.” - John Stark
“WOW! It was so easy and automatic I thought I did something wrong! I just put the disc in the drive the software launched automatically and identified the back up drive in about 30 seconds. It then automatically started a backup. WHHAATT?? I still think something is wrong, I'm not used to this. My other back up software was so clumsy and difficult to use. This is the answer to my prayers!” -Tom Manns, Realtor Keller Williams Real Estate, Doylestown, PA
“I did have a hard drive failure which was strange to say the least and I was able to put your system into action... It worked GREAT!!!” -Keller McCrary
“The hard drive on my IBM Thinkpad T-42 failed, and as one would expect, it failed at a critical time (a weekend, no tech support, project due Monday). I simply slid in a new hard drive and rebooted with the CD-ROM in the CD drive and the Backup Box plugged in. It took my lunch period, but when it was done, it was as though nothing had happened. Everything came back exactly as it was except for one word file that I was editing.
It would be useful to emphasize to other users that I am not a computer expert; that I never did more than plug in the box and put a CD in its drive. Everything else was automatic. It's fine to share this with others, as folks who are not computer savvy could really find this box useful. My data is worth more to me than my hardware, and for others who have the same issue, RedPawz would be a really good choice. I never did figure out the Ghost imaging program because I didn't read the manual, as I prefer to spend my time working on the project for which I get paid, not reading manuals. Thank you.” -Blane Taylor
